State House Calls for Formal Proposal on Post-Election Dialogue

State House says President Hakainde Hichilema will not initiate post-election dialogue until those advocating for the process submit formal proposals to the government.

Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka told Phoenix News that government has not received any proposal outlining who should participate, the issues to be discussed or how the reconciliation process should be conducted.

Hamasaka said dialogue cannot be advanced through media statements and public commentary alone.

He urged those calling for talks to formally present their proposals so that the participants, agenda and terms of the process can be clearly defined.

Hamasaka added that government remains unclear about who the President is expected to engage and what issues the proposed dialogue would address.
